Dirty Deal of the Day: Groupon rival LivingSocial is offering a rather humorously priced deal on a Cleveland Steamer.
What’s a Cleveland Steamer you ask? Well, apparently it’s a Cleveland-based carpet cleaning and deodorization service that fancies itself a romantic alternative to spa treatments and up-market dinner dates in Tremont.
It’s also the exact opposite of that. Also, don’t ask. And don’t Google it either. In fact, shut everything down, unplug your phone, turn off the lights, and sit silently in the corner for the rest of your life.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

So last night was my night to cook. My girlfriend Kelley called me during lunch to let me know that she would be home late and had taken out pork chops for dinner.

When I got home I knew that I wanted to marinate the pork chops for the obvious reasons (tenderness and added flavor) so I googled “quick pork chop marinade.” I used a recipe from allrecipes.com for marinated baked pork chops. I had never baked pork chops so I crossed my fingers, doubled the recipe and dove in.

Here is the recipe

2 tablespoon soy sauce

4 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoon lemon juice

4 tablespoons brown sugar

4 tablespoons ketchup

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Combine your ingredients in a small bowl. Place your pork chops in a baking dish and cover one side of the pork chops with your sauce. Bake for 30 minutes and flip, cover with your sauce again and bake for another 30 minutes.

We had yellow hominy and garlic broccoli as our sides. To cook the hominy you need the following.

1 can yellow hominy (drained)

1 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons flour

2 cups milk

salt/pepper (to taste)

So what you need to do is in a medium saute pan heat the hominy and butter until well coated. Next add flour till your hominy has a light to medium coating. Finally add enough milk to just cover your flower coated hominy and simmer till your sauce thickens. Add salt and pepper to taste. Hope y’all enjoy.

“@SodomyClown: Bacon is the boobs of the pork world.”

All right we had a change of plans. I decided to pan fry the steaks instead of using the Forman grill, reason being that I havent coked a steak in years. I used a large pan on medium-high heat with olive oil, and cooked to medium well. man those steaks were good. my girlfriend also whipped up some fried corn, garlic mashed potatoes, and some fried green beans with bacon.

So tonight I’m going to cook some marinated steaks. The marinade that I will be using is a simple one. I mixed the marinade this morning and will cook this evening on a small Forman grill.

1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons minced garlic , from jar is fine
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder.

Hi y’all

For the longest time I wanted to do food reviews, so I started a tumblr and I figured I would give it a try. Now keep in mind I’ve never done this before so first it might be pretty rough but hopefully as things progress it should get better. I also plan on posting recipes of things that I have tried.
